Mississippi State Sets Program Record with Lowest NCAA Tournament Round in Winston-Salem Regional

Winston-Salem, N.C. — Mississippi State set a program record during the second round of the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional, shooting a 12-under 272, the lowest round in school history, according to the university.

The Bulldogs sit in fourth place overall with a combined score of 18-under 550. Garrett Endicott led the charge with a career-best 7-under 64, marking his 81st round of par or better, breaking Ford Clegg’s school record. Endicott’s round was bogey-free with five birdies and an eagle.

Dain Richie posted a 3-under 68, his seventh straight round in the 60s. Richie birdied three of his first four holes and finished strong with two birdies in his last six. Jackson Skinner added a 2-under 69, his 15th round of par or better this season, with seven birdies. Jackson Cook finished with an even-par 71, and Ugo Malcor shot a 3-over 74 for the Bulldogs.

The final round’s tee times have not yet been announced. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD. Mississippi State trails first-place Virginia by 29 strokes after two rounds.

In the regional standings after Day One, Virginia led with a 27-under 541, followed by Pepperdine and Ole Miss at 21-under 547. Mississippi State was in fourth place, five strokes ahead of Southern California.

Individual top performers include Endicott and Richie, who are among the top six overall, with Skinner also in the top 20. The regional continues Wednesday.
