Ivaniciuc, Bass Earn SWAC Weekly Honors After Jackson State Win
Jackson, Miss. — Jackson State University players Andrew Ivaniciuc and Keith Bass Jr. earned weekly honors from the Southwestern Athletic Conference after the Tigers’ 26-24 victory over Tennessee State on Saturday, the conference announced Monday.
Ivaniciuc, a freshman kicker, made a 21-yard field goal with 2:31 remaining to give Jackson State the lead. He finished the game 4-for-5 on field goals, including a 45-yarder and a career-high 51-yard kick in the third quarter that extended the lead to 23-17. His performance earned him the SWAC Special Teams Player of the Week award.
Meanwhile, Bass, a sophomore linebacker, was named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Week. He recorded six tackles, a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss in the game.
