Mississippi College Volleyball Wraps Up First Week of Practice
The Mississippi College volleyball team has finished its first week of preseason practice, according to program officials. The team is working on building chemistry and preparing for the upcoming 2026 season.
Senior Rhaia Davey highlighted the welcoming environment that has helped new players integrate smoothly. “I think our team has always been super welcoming,” Davey said. “We’ve all been getting along well, even off the court, which is great for team bonding.”
Junior Reese Regner emphasized the importance of team dinners and social activities outside of practice. “Team dinners are super fun,” Regner said. “Everyone is mixing well, and there are lots of laughs. It’s a good way to strengthen our relationships.”
The team has also set goals beyond athletic performance. Senior Samarin Kipple said community service and representing the program as student-athletes are priorities. “We’re focusing on community service and how we can serve both on and off the court,” Kipple said. “We want to lead as athletes and students.”
On the court, the team is exploring different lineups and utilizing its roster depth. Davey noted that the preseason has been challenging but exciting. “Preseason is always tough,” she said. “But I’m looking forward to playing with everyone, especially the freshmen, and seeing what lineups work best.”
Returning players make up a veteran core, with no losses from last season, according to Regner. The team is eager to build on existing chemistry and take the field soon. Mississippi College will compete in preseason matches in Dallas before hosting its own tournament. The season begins Aug. 28 at the Dallas Classic on the campus of Dallas Baptist University.
