Ole Miss Women’s Golf Tied for Seventh After Opening at Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The University of Mississippi women’s golf team, ranked 19th nationally, is seventh in the Cougar Classic after the first two rounds Monday at Yeamans Hall Club. The Rebels shot 5-under in the first round to lead the field but posted a 10-over in the second round.

Florida leads the 18-team field at 9-under par entering Tuesday’s final round. Ole Miss’s best performer was Mary Miller, who shot 67-73 for a total of 2-under and is tied for seventh individually.

Matilda Björkman also posted strong scores, finishing with a 70-72 to sit tied for 20th at even par. Kajsalotta Svarvar is tied for 27th at 2-over par after rounds of 68 and 76. Lisa Herman is tied for 47th at 5-over, while Ebba Lundqvist is tied for 74th at 9-over. Sophomore Sophie Linder, competing as an individual, shot 72-72 and is tied for 27th at 2-over.
