Ole Miss Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Cougar Classic

The University of Mississippi women’s golf team, ranked No. 19, finished seventh at the Cougar Classic held at Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, South Carolina, on Tuesday, finishing with a total score of 6-over par.

The Rebels posted rounds of 279 and 294 on Monday, concluding with a 1-over 285 in the final round. Florida claimed the team title with a 16-under 836, followed by Tennessee at 6-under 846 and Baylor at 5-under 847.

Mary Miller led Ole Miss with a ninth-place finish, shooting 2-under 211 over three rounds. She opened with a 4-under 67, followed by rounds of 73 and 71. Sophie Linder, competing as an individual, tied for 15th at even-par 213 after closing with a 2-under 69. Kajsalotta Svarvar tied for 22nd at 1-over 214, with rounds of 68, 76 and 70. Svarvar ranked second in the field with four-under par on par fours this week. Linder and Miller tied for sixth in the field on par fives with 4-under.

Other Ole Miss players included Matilda Björkman, who finished tied for 30th at 3-over, and Lisa Herman, who shot a final-round 70 to tie for 39th at 4-over. Ebba Lundqvist rounded out the lineup in a tie for 77th at 13-over 226.

The Rebels return to competition October 5-7 at The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
