Ole Miss Women’s Golf Finishes Second at Boilermaker Classic

The University of Mississippi women’s golf team finished second at the Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Indiana, according to a Tuesday release from Ole Miss Athletics. The Rebels shot a combined 859, 5 under par, to finish behind Miami, which posted a 10-under 854.

Ole Miss was one of only two teams to finish the final round under par, with the Hurricanes leading. The Rebels had a strong final day, shooting 8 under in the third round. Five players finished inside the top 25, including three in the top five.

Lisa Herman, making her collegiate debut, led Ole Miss with a runner-up finish after totaling 211 strokes, 5 under par. She recorded 12 birdies and an eagle from the fairway during the tournament. Kajsalotta Svarvar and Mary Miller tied for fifth, each with a three-round total of 215, 1 over par. Svarvar shot a 4-under 68 in the third round, while Miller finished with an even-par round to secure her top-five spot.

Other notable performances included Matilda Björkman, who finished tied for 16th after a 2-under 70 in the final round, and Ebba Lundqvist, who tied for 25th after an even-par 72. Senior Sophie Linder also shined, setting a new career-low 18-hole score with an 8-under 64. Her round ranks as the third-lowest in Ole Miss history.

The Rebels will next compete Sept. 7-8 at the Cougar Classic in Hanahan, South Carolina, hosted at Yeamans Hall Club, according to the team’s schedule.
