Ole Miss Golfer Lisa Herman Named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss women’s golfer Lisa Herman has been named SEC Women’s Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. The award marks Herman’s first career conference honor.

The Jenks, Oklahoma, native earned the recognition after a strong performance at the Boilermaker Classic, where she finished second out of 93 golfers. It was her first top-five finish in college golf.

Herman shot 5-under par in her debut, carding rounds of 70 and 70. She tied for first in scoring on par fours and par fives, each at -3 for the tournament. She also recorded 12 birdies and an eagle from the fairway, demonstrating a well-rounded game in her first collegiate event.

Ole Miss women’s golf will return to tournament play in October at The Ally in West Point, Mississippi. The team is preparing for the upcoming SEC Championship and NCAA Regionals.

Jessica Guiser of Florida was named SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week. Herman’s recognition highlights her promising start in college golf, according to the conference release.
