Mississippi State Unveils Stadium Upgrades and Key Events for 2026 Season
Mississippi State University has announced significant enhancements to Davis Wade Stadium for the 2026 football season. The upgrades build on last year’s $9 million investment in stadium and gameday improvements, according to the school’s athletics department.
These improvements include expanded premium seating, new retail options, advanced technology, and enhanced in-stadium production. The university also plans a variety of special events and theme nights throughout the fall, including a record attempt for the most cowbells rung simultaneously during the Sept. 26 game against Missouri.
Gameday preparations feature a new parking partnership with Parking Management Company, offering fans the option to purchase parking in advance or pay onsite. Stadium-wide upgrades include stronger cellular service with a new distributed antenna system, an expanded LED light show synchronized to music, and a revamped team entrance designed to energize fans as players take the field.
The stadium’s fan experience will also see improvements such as additional speakers, refreshed branding, expanded hydration stations, and larger outdoor TVs in select seating areas. The relocation of the ROTC cannon to the southeast corner enhances visibility, while new videoboard graphics and CrowdSync LED technology add visual excitement during games.
In-stadium retail options will grow, featuring new merchandise locations, including team jerseys and game-themed apparel. Concession options now include a round-up feature to support student-athletes, and the student section will showcase cryo effects and the return of DJ Skip to maintain high energy levels.
Technology enhancements include a new camera jib for ESPN/SEC Network broadcasts and updated wayfinding signage to improve fan safety and navigation. Mississippi State will also debut new videoboard graphics and introduce laser effects for select SEC games.
Several themed game days mark the schedule, starting with the Sept. 5 opener against ULM, featuring live music and a popular hype video. The Sept. 26 game against Missouri will feature a White Out and a record attempt for cowbell ringing. Other notable events include a Stripe Out against Alabama, a Black Out vs. Oklahoma, and Homecoming against Vanderbilt. The season concludes with Military Appreciation Day against Auburn and Senior Day against Tennessee Tech.
