Mississippi Christian Volleyball’s Rhaia Davey Named to GSC Preseason All-Conference Team
Mississippi Christian University senior middle hitter Rhaia Davey has been named to the 2026 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team, according to the league. The Choctaws were predicted to finish seventh in the GSC preseason coaches poll.
Davey, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native, made the all-conference team after earning All-GSC honors last season. She helped lead the team to the conference tournament in 2025. Along with Davey, three other players from Mississippi Christian were named to the GSC Newcomers to Watch List. Freshman outside hitter Harper Green from Beeville, Texas, and freshman setter Ava Rothe from Kiel, Wisconsin, joined junior setter Mamie Fromdahl, who transferred from Mobile, Alabama.
The Choctaws received 41 points in the preseason poll, which was topped by Alabama Huntsville, with seven first-place votes and 79 points. Trevecca Nazarene was second with 71 points and two first-place votes, followed by Lee in third with 65 points and one first-place vote. Montevallo was fourth with 51 points, and Christian Brothers, Valdosta State, and Mississippi Christian rounded out the top six. The team opens the season on Aug. 28 at the Dallas Classic, hosted by Dallas Baptist University.
