Ashland Devils and Lady Devils qualify for state playoffs with win at district
Both the Ashland Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils have qualified for the state basketball playoffs with their victories at the district basketball tournament this week.
And the job isn’t done yet.
Ashland girls took care of business on Monday night with a resounding win over HW Byers. The Lady Devils went up 21-6 after the first period and cruised to a 64-33 win.
They play West Union for a spot in the tournament championship on Thursday at 4 pm.
In boys action, the Devils led the entire way and picked up a victory over the host Myrtle Hawks on Tuesday by a score of 70-62.
Kenneth Morgan led with a game high 20. Tavionne Stigger put up 15 while Tacarius Anthony contributed 11 and Erik Bell added 10.
They play Potts Camp on Thursday for a spot in the tournament championship.
