Three W Baseball Players Earn All-Region Honors
Three players from The W baseball team received all-region honors as postseason awards were announced. Zach Johnson, Baron Brack, and Chase Marshall were recognized for their performances this season, according to team and conference sources.
Johnson, a senior outfielder from Moody, Alabama, was a consensus first-team selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association, D3Baseball.com, and D3Region8Base.com. He earned the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and first-team all-conference honors. Johnson batted .424 with a .500 on-base percentage and a .758 slugging percentage in nine games against teams reaching the NCAA Division III national championships. He led The W in multiple offensive categories, including batting average, OPS, hits, runs, doubles, and homers. Johnson also set school records with 67 hits, 57 runs, 10 home runs, and 9 RBIs in the season. He had a 22-game hitting streak and a 35-game on-base streak, both school records.
Brack, a senior designated hitter and outfielder from Pike Road, Alabama, was named first-team by both the ABCA and D3Baseball.com, and second-team by D3Region8Base.com. He was a first-team all-SLIAC selection for the third consecutive season. Against 2026 NCAA playoff teams, Brack posted a slash line of .417/.512/.750, with seven extra-base hits and 13 RBIs. He ranked highly in conference stats, including first in RBIs and second in batting average. Brack also achieved the school record for two triples in a game, accomplished on April 25 against Greenville.
Marshall, a junior infielder from Moody, Alabama, earned first-team honors from both D3Baseball.com and D3Region8Base.com, along with all-conference recognition. He posted a slash line of .379/.621/.515 in his first season with The W. Marshall played in 38 games, with 31 hits, 14 multi-hit games, and 11 multi-RBI games. His consistent offensive production contributed significantly to the team’s season.
All three players’ achievements highlight their contributions to the team’s success during 2026, with multiple accolades and record-setting performances, according to team officials and conference records.
