Addison Owen Named to CSC Academic All-District® Softball Team

Columbus, Miss. — Addison Owen, a junior infielder for the Mississippi University for Women softball team, has been named to the 2026 Academic All-District® Softball Team, college sports officials announced. Owen, from Pontotoc, Mississippi, transferred to MUW from Northwest Mississippi Community College and Pontotoc High School.

The Academic All-District® team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes top student-athletes nationwide for their combined academic and athletic achievements. Honorees must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 3.50 GPA and have appeared in at least 90 percent of their team’s games, or started 66 percent.

Owen is a mathematics major with teacher certification at MUW. She also made the university’s Athletics Director’s Honor Roll. On the field, she was a key player for the Owls, earning first-team All-SLIAC honors in 2026. Owen led MUW in batting average (.491), hits (52), doubles (8), RBIs (21), slugging percentage (.632), on-base average (.509), and OPS (1.141).

She was one of only two MUW players to start and play in all 32 games during the season. Owen is listed as a 5-foot-6 infielder and right-handed thrower and batter.
