Millsaps Softball Honors Five Student-Athletes as CSC Academic All-District® Selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Five Millsaps College softball players have been named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District® Softball Team, announced Tuesday by College Sports Communicators.

The honorees include juniors Julie Amacher, Ella Morgan Sears, and Allana Vasquez, along with sophomores Ava Palumbo and Hailey Peterson. All met the academic and athletic criteria required for selection, which includes maintaining a minimum 3.50 GPA and participating in a specified percentage of games.

Amacher, a biochemistry major with a 3.82 GPA, transferred from Coastal Alabama Community College and Meridian Community College. She appeared in 15 games, starting eight as a pitcher, pitching 41.1 innings with a 4-2 record. She threw a complete game against MUW on Feb. 28, allowing three hits and one run in a 5-1 victory.

Palumbo, a government and politics major with a minor in biology, holds a 3.84 GPA. She was named to the Dean’s List and President’s List, and finished second in conference games with a .541 on-base percentage. She also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in left field and batted .310 with 11 RBIs in 33 games.

Peterson, a health and exercise science major with a 3.94 GPA, was recognized as a first-team All-SAA pitcher and utility player. She posted a 1.42 ERA with 10 earned runs allowed in 49.1 innings and struck out 25 batters. She also offers private softball lessons during the summer and is involved in multiple campus organizations.

Sears, a health and exercise major with a minor in public health, earned a 3.60 GPA. She started all 38 games, finishing with 10 doubles, four home runs, and 38 hits. She also served as an intern at Southern Physical Therapy and was the head coach for Softball Country.

Vasquez, a biology major with a minor in Spanish, posted a 3.56 GPA. She started all 38 games, leading the team with 25 RBIs and tying for second with 10 doubles. She was named SAA Softball Pitcher of the Week on April 13 after a complete game victory at Sewanee.
