Millsaps Softball Earns Eight NFCA Scholar-Athlete All-Americans

The Millsaps College softball team was recognized Wednesday with eight Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2025-26 academic year, according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The team posted a 23-15 overall record and an 11-4 mark at home during the season. They achieved a combined GPA of 3.243, earning recognition as an NFCA Top Academic Team.

Senior Julia Strain and seniors Kadence Cannon, Ella Morgan Sears, Julie Amacher, and Allana Vasquez, along with juniors Ava Palumbo and Hailey Peterson and sophomore Liza Gregg, received individual honors as Scholar-Athletes following the regular season. The recognition highlights their academic dedication alongside athletic performance.

Meanwhile, Paris Junior College led the way among programs with a 3.942 GPA, making it the only college to surpass a 3.9 GPA among those listed. The college recently reached the semifinals at the 2026 NJCAA Division I World Series. Bryant & Stratton College – Wisconsin and other college programs followed, with notable GPAs of 3.88 and higher. NCAA Division I schools Butler University and Eastern Illinois University also made the list with GPAs of 3.876 and 3.87, respectively.

Across all categories, 14 teams posted GPAs of 3.8 or higher, including top programs from NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. A total of 66 programs achieved GPAs of 3.7 or better. NCAA Division I led with 2,637 student-athletes earning at least a 3.5 GPA for the academic year.

Coaches submitted team GPAs and scholar-athlete nominations. High school team GPA winners and scholar-athletes will be announced Sept. 9.
