Ole Miss Golfer Svarvar Advances to NCAA Individual Championship Final
Carlsbad, Calif. — Kajsalotta Svarvar of the University of Mississippi women’s golf team secured her spot in the final round of the NCAA Championship on Sunday, advancing as an individual competitor. Svarvar finished the three-day stroke play in 26th place among the nation’s top players, with a three-round score of 210, the lowest in program history at the NCAA Championship, according to Ole Miss athletics.
Playing at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Svarvar recovered from a two-over par front nine with birdies and all pars on her back nine. Her performance kept her at six-under overall, and she will play 18 more holes Monday with a chance to win the NCAA Individual Championship.
As a non-advancing team member, Svarvar is the second-ranked individual in the field. Her effort helped Ole Miss conclude its season at the NCAA Championship. Teammates Sophie Linder, Mary Miller, and Filippa Sundquist also competed, with Linder shooting a 72, and Miller and Sundquist each carding 74s. Matilda Björkman finished her day with a 77.
Ole Miss’s women’s golf team finished the championship in 26th place overall. Svarvar’s historic score and performance highlight her as a standout in the tournament. The NCAA Championship concludes Monday, with the individual title awarded at the end of the final round.
