The University of Southern Mississippi has detailed travel, parking, and traffic procedures for its 2026 football season. The season kicks off Saturday against Alcorn State, and fans are encouraged to review the guidelines to ensure smooth gameday experiences, according to university officials.
To reduce congestion, Championship Drive will be closed from 4th Street before kickoff. Fans must enter from Highway 49. Additionally, Eagle Walk will be closed to vehicles and golf carts from Gate 6 to Gate 9. Postgame traffic will follow designated routes with police directing fans toward the fastest exits along 4th and Hardy Streets, based on traffic conditions.
Fans with RVs parked in Century Park North and Payne Center lots need to follow posted maps and staff instructions for entry. RVs can begin parking at 6 p.m. on Fridays before home games and must display a valid hang tag. All RVs must leave the lots by noon on Sundays or risk towing at the owner’s expense.
Tailgating drop-off zones are available at three locations: Thad Cochran Center Lot, East Memorial Drive, and Ray Guy Way. Drop-off times are from noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays and from 7 a.m. until five hours prior to kickoff on game day. Vehicles must not be left unattended, and fans are advised to follow signage and police instructions.
The university’s color-coded parking system returns for the second year to streamline entry. Season ticket holders can access their parking passes online. Fans should follow designated routes based on their parking zone, with passes required at checkpoints. Zones include Gold, Blue, Black, and Purple, covering various campus lots.
Accessible shuttle services will continue, providing transportation for fans with disabilities. Tickets for the season and individual games are available online and at the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office. Fans are advised to review all game day policies and parking maps on the university’s official website.
