Round 1 Games To Watch (Girls)
Here is one game to watch for each classification in round 1 of the MHSAA playoffs. (Girls Edition)
GIRLS
1A
#3 Jumpertown @ #2 West Union
-If West Union has hopes of making a deep run, they will have to start by overcoming a familiar opponent. The Lady Eagles won 49-43 against Jumpertown back in November. The round two contest is probably a road trip to #1 seed Vardaman.
2A
#3 Pine Grove @ #2 Potts Camp
-Coach Bates and Pine Grove have won 6 of 7 and defeated Potts Camp earlier this season by the score of 62-50. The winner will likely have a round two matchup at East Webster. Pine Grove is led by Ellie Fryar and Lana Rowland. Potts Camp has a really nice guard in Malasha Faulkner.

#4 Mantachie @ #1 North Panola
-After a rough start, North Panola managed to win their division. Can Darby Pitts and the Lady Mustangs pull off the upset at Sardis?
4A
#3 South Pontotoc @ #2 Corinth
-This will be a nice game featuring two well coached ball clubs. South Pontotoc has won 6 of 7 and will count on guard Rebekah Pilcher to lead their attack.
5A
#3 Florence @ #2 Laurel
-Laurel is the defending 5A champion so expect them to handle Florence at home in round 1. The winner will make a tough visit to Gautier next.
6A
#3 Madison Central @ #2 Hernando
-Both of these programs have enjoyed some recent success so expect them to fight hard to advance. The winner will be rewarded with a trip to Tupelo for for round two.
