Ole Miss Men’s Golf Heads to NCAA Regional in Bermuda Run
BERMUDA RUN, N.C. — The University of Mississippi men’s golf team, ranked No. 10 nationally, is participating in the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional beginning Monday at Bermuda Run Country Club. This marks the ninth straight season the Rebels have qualified for an NCAA regional tournament, according to school officials.
The three-day event features 14 teams and five individuals competing across 54 holes. The top five teams and the lowest-scoring individual from a non-qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Championships, set for May 29 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.
The regional tournament runs through Wednesday, with 18 holes of stroke play scheduled for each day. Ole Miss’s lineup includes seniors Tom Fischer, Cameron Tankersley, Cohen Trolio, junior Collins Trolio, and freshman Finn Meister, each aiming to secure a spot at nationals.
Fischer, ranked No. 13 in PGA TOUR U and No. 42 in World Amateur Golf Ranking, leads the team with a 69.80 scoring average. Tankersley, ranked No. 15 and No. 35 respectively, earned his first collegiate win at The Invitational at the Honors Course. Cohen Trolio has four top-10 finishes this season, with a career-best third-place finish at the SEC Championships.
Ole Miss enters the regional after a successful regular season, including nine top-five finishes, three individual wins, and the program’s second SEC championship since 1984. Head coach Chris Malloy was named SEC Coach of the Year, and players Fischer and Tankersley received all-conference honors.
In recent tournaments, the Rebels posted a team victory at the Mossy Oak Collegiate and won the SEC title, showcasing momentum heading into postseason play. The team also boasts a strong history at Watersound Invitational and The Invitational at the Honors Course, where they secured team and individual titles.
Ole Miss features a core of experienced players, including Fischer, Tankersley, and Cohen Trolio, all ranked inside the top 20 of PGA TOUR U. The sibling duo of Cohen and Collins Trolio expressed excitement about playing together again this season, highlighting their close relationship and shared passion for golf.
Following the regional, the Rebels aim to reach their eighth consecutive NCAA Championships appearance, continuing a decade-long tradition of postseason success in collegiate golf.
