Ole Miss Volleyball Beats Northern Arizona in Four Sets

The Ole Miss volleyball team topped Northern Arizona 3-1 Saturday evening at the Gillom Athletics Performance Center, marking the Rebels’ first 2-0 start since 2021, according to the university.

The Rebels (2-0) lost the first set 25-23 but responded with strong performances in the next three. They won the second set 25-16, the third 25-22, and closed out the match in the fourth 25-22.

Shayla Meyer led Ole Miss with 18 kills for a second consecutive night. Jaidyn Hartsfield posted her first collegiate double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs. Vivianna Samaniego contributed a career-high 40 assists and 16 digs. Carly Paugh added six blocks and hit .615 with eight kills.

Despite dropping the first set, Ole Miss gained momentum early in the second, building a 7-4 lead behind service errors by Northern Arizona and key kills from Meyer and Hartsfield. The Rebels increased their lead to 24-15 before securing the set, 25-16.

The third set saw Ole Miss jump out to a 5-1 lead. The Lumberjacks rallied to tie the set at 22-22, but Meyer and Crook combined for 12 kills in the frame to help the Rebels win 25-22. In the final set, both teams exchanged leads before Ole Miss sealed the victory with an ace from Crook and a forced error from Northern Arizona.

The Rebels will conclude their home stand Sunday at 2 p.m. CT against Loyola Marymount, which will be streamed on SEC Network Plus. Fans are encouraged to support the team through the ACE Club and Rebel Rewards programs.
