Mississippi State’s Dakota Jordan Named to All-Star Futures Game
PHILADELPHIA — Dakota Jordan has been selected to play in the MLB All-Star Futures Game, representing Mississippi State University and the National League. The outfielder, a fourth-round draft pick by San Francisco in 2024, will compete Sunday at 11 a.m. on NBC.
Jordan, who hails from Canton, Mississippi, is currently batting .290 with 22 doubles, a triple, 18 home runs, 66 RBIs and 15 stolen bases for the Eugene Emeralds, the Giants’ High-A affiliate. He leads the Northwest League in home runs and was named Player of the Week after posting a 1.462 OPS, with four homers, 11 RBIs and eight runs scored in 26 plate appearances.
The 6-foot, 231-pound outfielder had a career game Friday night against Spokane, going 4-for-5 with a double, three homers and four RBIs. At Mississippi State, Jordan played in 107 games from 2023 to 2024, batting .336 with 132 hits, including 55 for extra bases, and 30 home runs. He also recorded 112 RBIs and a .435 on-base percentage.
Jordan earned All-American and All-SEC honors and received the Ferriss Trophy in 2024. He is the seventh Bulldog to be selected for the Futures Game, joining Paul Maholm (2005), Hunter Renfroe (2014, 2016), Dakota Hudson (2018), Nathaniel Lowe (2018), Ethan Small (2021) and Jurrangelo Cijntje (2025). Several former Bulldogs have gone on to reach the major leagues.
The MLB Draft begins this weekend, with the first four rounds on Saturday starting at noon, broadcast on NBC and Peacock. The remaining rounds, 41-135, will be streamed on MLB.com and MLB TV. Rounds 5-20 are scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 a.m., also available online. Fans can follow Mississippi State baseball updates via social media at ‘HailStateBB.’
