Mississippi State Track and Field Set for NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene

Mississippi State’s track and field team will conclude its 2026 season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, starting Wednesday. The Bulldogs will send 13 men and three women to compete in TrackTown USA, according to team officials.

Competition begins Wednesday for the men’s team, with finalists advancing to Friday. The women’s athletes will compete on Thursday and Saturday. Four athletes — Sam Navarro, Tuomas Narhi, Nelly Jemeli, and Marie Rougetet — are making their second consecutive appearance at the championships, with Navarro earning first-team All-American honors last year in the 800-meter run.

On the women’s side, Manie Mevo will make her NCAA debut in the triple jump, while Jemeli and Rougetet will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and hammer throw, respectively. Among the men, two athletes will run in the 800 meters, with five throwers, two relays, and competitors in jumping events also scheduled to compete.

Ten of the Bulldogs competing in Eugene will participate in their first outdoor national meet. Harry Ross-Hughes will debut in the 800 meters alongside Navarro. Khalil Antoine will compete in the triple and high jump. Field event athletes include ring throwers Keving Grubbs and Juha Narhi, and javelin thrower Kaden Cartwright.

The Bulldogs’ 4×100-meter relay team, consisting of Nicholas Fakorede, Kibren Moore, Gabriel Scott, and Sherman Hawkins Jr., will return after missing the 2025 championships. The 4×400-meter relay, featuring Keayari Lee, Malachi Burton, Ross-Hughes, and Hawkins, will also compete for the first time since 2024.

The meet will be streamed on ESPN2, with individual field events available on ESPN+. For more information, visit HailState.com or follow “HailStateTF” on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.
