Mississippi State Alumni Shine in Professional Baseball During 2026 Season
Mississippi State University has a rich history of producing professional baseball talent. In 2026, 42 former Bulldogs are active in professional leagues, including eight in the major leagues, according to a release from MSU.
Among those in the MLB are All-Stars Adam Frazier, Brent Rooker, Jordan Westburg, Brandon Woodruff, and World Series champion Nathaniel Lowe. MSU has produced 72 Major Leaguers, 13 All-Stars, and seven World Series champions. The school also boasts 20 first-round draft picks, including Rooker, Westburg, Justin Foscue, Will Bednar, Landon Sims, and Jurrangelo Cijntje, the university said.
Current major leaguers include Foscue with the Texas Rangers, Frazier with the Los Angeles Angels, Lowe with the Cincinnati Reds, Rooker with the Oakland Athletics, and Westburg with the Baltimore Orioles. Several former Bulldogs are also competing in Triple-A and Double-A leagues, such as Jurrangelo Cijntje with Springfield and Will Bednar with Richmond, among others.
MSU’s baseball alumni continue to make an impact across professional ranks. The university’s athletic department will provide weekly updates on their performances throughout the season, the release added.
