Mississippi State Alumni Continue to Shine in Professional Baseball in 2026

Mississippi State University has a rich history of producing professional baseball talent. In 2026, 51 former Bulldogs are active in professional leagues, including eight in Major League Baseball, according to the university’s athletics department.

Among the major leaguers are All-Stars Adam Frazier, Brent Rooker, Jordan Westburg, and Brandon Woodruff, as well as World Series champion Nathaniel Lowe. The school has produced 72 MLB players overall, with 13 All-Stars and seven World Series winners in its history. It also has 21 first-round draft picks, including Rooker, Westburg, Justin Foscue, Will Bednar, Landon Sims, Jurrangelo Cijntje, and Ace Reese.

Current MLB players include Justin Foscue of the Texas Rangers, who is batting .266 with eight home runs and 23 RBIs, and Adam Frazier of the Los Angeles Angels, hitting .243 with two doubles and 10 RBIs. Nathaniel Lowe of the Cleveland Guardians went 3-for-4 on Aug. 14 with a home run and two RBIs. Jurrangelo Cijntje of the Memphis Redbirds has a 3-7 record with a 5.22 ERA at Triple-A, while Landon Sims has made four consecutive shutout relief appearances for the Reno Aces.

Several Bulldogs are also competing in minor leagues, such as Will Bednar with the Sacramento River Cats and Tyler Davis with the Portland Sea Dogs. Others include Colton Ledbetter, Konnor Pilkington, and Dakota Jordan, who are making strides in their respective teams’ systems. Some players, like Brandon Woodruff and Jordan Westburg, are currently sidelined due to injuries.
