STARKVILLE — Mississippi State freshman outfielder Jacob Parker has been named a first-team Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Parker, who led all freshmen with 18 home runs, also posted a .339 batting average and drove in 62 RBIs this season.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound player appeared in 53 games and started 44. He ranked second on the team in home runs and RBIs, and third in batting average and stolen bases, with seven. Parker also added 10 doubles and one triple to his offensive totals.

In addition to the NCBWA honor, Parker was named to the All-SEC Freshman team. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Starkville Regional and was the SEC Freshman of the Week on March 23. Midseason, he was recognized as a second-team All-American by Perfect Game and was one of five finalists for Baseball America’s Freshman of the Year award.

He is the 43rd Mississippi State player to earn All-American status and the 86th in program history. The last Bulldog to be named a Freshman All-American was Dakota Jordan in 2023, while Hunter Hines earned second-team honors in 2022. J.T. Ginn was the most recent first-team Freshman All-American, receiving the honor in 2019.
