Avery Weed to Represent U.S. at 44th Curtis Cup
Avery Weed will compete for the United States in the 44th Curtis Cup, becoming the second Mississippi State golfer in program history to earn a spot in the event, according to the USGA.
The Curtis Cup, established in 1932, features the top eight U.S. female amateur golfers competing against eight players from Great Britain and Ireland. The event is scheduled for July 12-14 at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.
Weed, from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, earned her first selection to the team on Monday. She follows Ally McDonald, now Ally Ewing, who represented Mississippi State in 2014 and helped lead Team USA to a 13-7 victory that year.
This season, Weed earned first-team All-SEC honors, finishing with seven top-10 finishes — six of which were top five. She secured her third collegiate victory at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational and posted a 37-under-par score across the 2025-26 season. Weed led her team with 22 rounds of par or better, including 11 in the 60s.
In addition to her Curtis Cup selection, Weed was chosen earlier this month for the U.S. team at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup, marking her second international team appearance this summer. Coverage of the Curtis Cup will be available on Golf Channel, with tickets on sale now.
