Madison, Wis. — Jake Moffitt shot a five-under 67 to win the individual title as Southern Miss secured its third team victory of the season at the 2026 Badger Invitational on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles finished with an 11-under 277 in the final round, ending the tournament at 23-under overall and beating runner-up South Dakota State by six strokes, according to the event organizers.
Moffitt, who entered the final round in first place, finished at 14-under 202, three strokes ahead of South Dakota’s Cole Witherow. His round included seven birdies, six of them on his first nine holes. After a bogey to start, he birdied six of his next eight holes to turn at four-under 31. Moffitt added a birdie on the par-5 11th and closed with pars after a bogey on the 14th.
With 18 birdies, Moffitt tied Witherow for the tournament lead and led in par-3 scoring at three-under. Supakorn Amornchaichan posted the lowest round for Southern Miss, a bogey-free 66 that included six birdies, moving him into a tie for fourth at seven-under 209. Benjamin Fernandez finished tied for sixth at five-under 211 after closing with a 72, which included an eagle on the 18th hole. His finish gave the Golden Eagles three players in the top six.
Franco Fernandez shot an even-par 72, tying for 38th at three-over. Matthew Javier finished tied for 73rd at eight-over after a 76. As a team, Southern Miss shot 11-under in the final round, their best of the tournament, and finished with a total score of 23-under. The team opened the event with rounds of seven-under and five-under, and expanded their lead in the final round.
