Ole Miss Men’s Golf Wins Bryan Bros Collegiate Title

The Ole Miss men’s golf team claimed first place at the Bryan Bros Collegiate on Tuesday in Columbia, South Carolina. The Rebels finished with a team score of 833, 19 under par, to win their first tournament of the season, according to school officials.

The victory was clinched when Collins Trolio made a par on the 18th hole. Trolio, Ole Miss’s top individual finisher, tied for second after shooting a 2-under 69 in the final round. He finished the tournament with a career-low 8-under 204 for 54 holes and hit the decisive putt to secure the team title, the school said.

Eduardo Matarazzo also played strongly, tying for fifth after a 2-under 69 in the final round and finishing 6-under overall. Matarazzo’s birdie on the 15th hole contributed to Ole Miss’s push for victory, according to team officials. Cooper Claycomb shot a 3-under 68 in the final round, finishing fourth overall at 4-under and tying for ninth, his best finish as a Rebel.

Daniel Tolf finished 2-under overall after a 75 in the final round, tying for 30th. Tomas Restrepo, who posted a final-round 1-over, tied for 66th, with notable contributions including an eagle and two late birdies that helped the Rebels stay even with Liberty and Arkansas in team standings. Finn Meister, competing as an individual, tied for 42nd after a 1-over 72 in the final round.

The Rebels are scheduled to compete next week at the Hamptons Intercollegiate in East Hampton, New York, at the Maidstone Club, according to the school’s schedule.
