Jhace Mallard, 6′ 190lb 2023 West LB, picks up first D1 offer from Arkansas St.
Jhace Mallard picked up his first D1 offer from Arkansas State University. The 6’0″ 190 lb LB out of West Point, MS was all over ball carriers last season.
Jhace is a very solid defensive player that makes great form tackles. He is a guy that stays low on defense and gets to the ball. He is a very sure tackler who brings runners down right where he makes contact. There is no dragging Jhace around and he doesn’t arm tackle. This guy gets a get use out of his shoulder pads.
When you look at West Point they have a long line of great defenses. Jhace is another guy you can put in that sentence. He will be playing along side of Bryson Kelly this season and will have to be the leader of the LB core this season.
Jhace is 190lbs and probably will play a dog or rover safety at the next level. He can also play OLB as well. The downhill style he plays at LB shows his aggression. He definitely has the IQ to play the backer position.
“It’s just a blessing to see everything I prayed and worked hard for starting to pay off,” said Jhace. “This off-season I’m working to be more explosive and getting downhill quicker.”
