Blue Mountain Christian Women’s Soccer ties Brewton-Parker 1-1
Mount Vernon, Georgia — Blue Mountain Christian University’s women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Brewton-Parker College on Thursday evening in SSAC action.
The match remained scoreless through the first 45 minutes. In the 54th minute, Nayelli Aguayo scored to give BMCU a 1-0 lead. Aguayo was a consistent threat throughout the game, finishing with five shots, all on target.
Brewton-Parker pushed for an equalizer and found it in the 73rd minute when Daria Cwynar scored to level the match at 1-1. The Topper attack continued to press late but was unable to score the winning goal before the final whistle.
BMCU finished the game with 13 shots, 12 on goal. Daniela Vazquez Nieto had three shots, with two on target, while Alba Luque Hernandez and Maria Eduarda Koespel each put two shots on goal. Taylor Duggar also recorded a shot on target.
Kiana Gordon started in goal for BMCU but left the match in the 54th minute due to injury. Krisslyn Boyles replaced her and made one save during the final 36 minutes. BMCU is scheduled to face Thomas University on Saturday.
