William Carey men’s soccer dominates Central Baptist 6-0
CONWAY, Ark. — William Carey University’s men’s soccer team delivered a dominant performance Thursday night, defeating Central Baptist 6-0 in road action. The Crusaders controlled play from the opening whistle and maintained possession throughout the match, while their defense kept the Mustangs off the scoreboard.
William Carey held Central Baptist without a shot for the entire game and scored early. Miguel Cardona assisted Souleymane Balde in the 12th minute for the match’s first goal. Six minutes later, Balde teamed with Enzo Galli to double the lead before halftime, giving the Crusaders a 2-0 advantage.
The Crusaders continued to dictate play after the break. In the 65th minute, Fernando Pirry scored to make it 3-0. Daniel Mulero added a fourth in the 72nd minute, followed by Diego Sammur’s goal in the 73rd minute. Mario Camacho completed the scoring in the 76th minute, assisted by Pirry, sealing the 6-0 victory.
William Carey’s defense remained solid throughout, securing the shutout and holding Central Baptist without a shot. The Crusaders are set to return to action Thursday, Oct. 8, when they host Point University at Danny Owens Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
