Southern Miss Baseball Players Participate in Summer Leagues and National Team Trials

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Multiple players from the University of Southern Mississippi baseball team are spending the summer enhancing their skills in various leagues nationwide, with some aiming for spots on the USA Collegiate National Team, according to school officials.

Three Golden Eagles — Camden Clark, Grayden Harris, and Camden Sunstrom — will attend the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team trials later this month in Cary, North Carolina. They hope to join the team competing in the World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taichung City, Taiwan, next month, sources said.

Additionally, five Golden Eagles are expected to participate in the Cape Cod League. Drey Barrett is playing for the Chatham Anglers, while Drake Meeks, Sam Mitchell, Bruce Middleton, and KL Farr will all suit up for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Meeks is already on the roster, while the others are set to join the team on July 1, the league reported.

Other Golden Eagles are competing in different leagues. Gray Eubanks, Cooper Waddle, and Dylan Causey are playing for the Ocean State Waves in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Braden Maranto, who redshirted this year, is with the Burlington Sock Puppets in the Appalachian League. Cade Adams will also spend his summer with the Liberal (Kansas) Bee Jays in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League.
