Ole Miss Women’s Tennis Falls to Vanderbilt in SEC Tournament Second Round

Norman, Oklahoma — The Ole Miss women’s tennis team was eliminated from the SEC Tournament after a 4-3 loss to Vanderbilt on Thursday afternoon.

The Rebels, seeded 10th, finished with a 15-11 record. Vanderbilt, seeded seventh, improved to 20-8. The match was decided in the final singles bout, where Andrea Nova faced No. 30 Valeria Ray. Nova won the first set but Ray rallied to take the next two, clinching the victory for Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt took an early lead by winning the doubles point. Erin Pearce and Mia Yamakita defeated Brooklyn Olson and Beatrice Stagno, 6-1. However, Ole Miss responded with a 6-3 win by No. 9 Nova and Emily Welker over No. 6 Mohr and Webster. The deciding doubles match went to Vanderbilt in a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-3).

In singles play, Vanderbilt extended its lead as No. 9 Stammel defeated Soulié, 6-3, 6-2. Ole Miss rallied with wins from Crowder and Horikawa, but Vanderbilt’s Ray ultimately secured the clinching point in the final singles match. The Rebels now await their NCAA regional assignment, which will be announced May 2-3. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for April 27 at 4:30 p.m. CT on NCAA.com.

Ole Miss is seeking its 23rd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The team last advanced to the tournament in 2025.
