Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Adds Jada Richard to 2026-27 Roster
Ole Miss women’s basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced the addition of Jada Richard, a guard from LSU, to the team’s roster for the 2026-27 season. The transfer was confirmed Friday, with McPhee-McCuin highlighting Richard’s skills and leadership.
“Jada is exactly what we were looking for in a point guard,” McPhee-McCuin said. “She’s a competitor, a great defender, can shoot extremely well, and is a true floor general. Her self-confidence and ability to elevate others will be tremendous assets here at Ole Miss.”
Richard, a 5-foot-7 sophomore from Opelousas, Louisiana, averaged 9.5 points and 3.2 assists per game during the 2025-26 season. She shot 40.8% from three-point range and led LSU in free throw percentage at 88.6%, converting 70 of 79 attempts. She scored in double figures 19 times, including two 20-point games against Oklahoma and Florida.
Her improvement from her freshman year is notable. Richard played in 33 games as a Tiger, averaging 2.8 points and scoring in double figures twice. She was recognized as one of the top 15 student-athletes available in the transfer portal and was a highly decorated high school prospect, earning Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and LSWA Miss Basketball honors.
Richard led Louisiana Christian Academy to four state championships and was a four-time first-team all-district selection. She joins a growing Ole Miss roster that includes players like Maya Anderson, Jaida Civil, and Talaysia Cooper. The team currently has 10 players for the 2026-27 season, with additional transfers and returning athletes.
The Rebels have made five consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and continue to build their program. Fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets for the upcoming season and follow the team on social media for updates.
