Ole Miss Track & Field Opens Postseason at SEC Outdoor Championships in Auburn

OLE MISS — The University of Mississippi’s track & field teams are beginning their postseason at the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships in Auburn, Alabama. The meet runs from May 14-16, with all three days televised live on SEC Network+ and Saturday’s finals on SEC Network, according to school officials.

The Rebels enter the competition ranked No. 18 nationally in the men’s USTFCCCA Track & Field Rating Index. Other top SEC teams include Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Texas, Florida, and Kentucky. The women’s team is ranked No. 33 in the same index, competing against top programs such as Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Alabama.

Ole Miss boasts a history of success at the conference meet, with 63 individual SEC titles — 45 men’s and 18 women’s. The team is led by head coach Connie Price-Smith, now in her 11th season, who has guided the Rebels to four of the program’s top-five SEC outdoor finishes. The 2023 women’s team finished fourth, the best in program history, while the men’s team tied for fifth last year.

Among the standout athletes returning to the meet are four SEC outdoor medalists from 2025. Senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan won gold in both the shot put and hammer throw, while junior Lily Beattie and junior Akaoma Odeluga each earned silver medals. Senior Arvesta Troupe also took silver in the high jump.

Robinson-O’Hagan, a dominant force in conference competition, is approaching a record in SEC titles. He has won 11 titles across indoor and outdoor meets and is one title shy of tying the SEC record set by Auburn’s Harvey Glance. Robinson-O’Hagan’s performances have consistently contributed a significant portion of Ole Miss’ points at the conference meet, accounting for nearly 31% of total points since 1980.
