Ole Miss Softball Prepares for Rematch Against North Alabama
The University of Mississippi softball team is set to face North Alabama on Tuesday at the Ole Miss Softball Stadium. The game marks the second meeting between the Rebels and the Lions this season, following a 4-2 victory by Ole Miss in eight innings on March 10 in Florence, Alabama, according to team sources.
Ole Miss (26-18, 2-13 SEC) enters the game after a series of notable performances. Junior Cassie Reasner, who recently set a school record with seven RBIs in a game against Memphis, is batting .438 over her last 10 games. Freshman Madi George, with 13 home runs this season, is closing in on the program’s all-time freshman record. Sophomore Persy Llamas is hitting .485 in her last 10 games, contributing two home runs and seven RBIs.
The Rebels recently set a program record with eight home runs in a series against No. 13 Texas A&M. They have hit 58 home runs in 2026, averaging 1.32 per game, and are 16-6 when they avoid errors. Defense and power-hitting have become strengths for Ole Miss, which is navigating a challenging schedule that ranks fifth nationally in difficulty, according to the team.
The game will be streamed on SEC Network Plus and begins at 6 p.m. Central Time. Ole Miss aims to improve its 4-4 record in non-conference play before hitting the final stretch of SEC matchups, including six games against top-25 RPI teams, such as LSU and Mississippi State.
Ole Miss’s offense has been trending upwards, with standout performances from Llamas, Reasner, and George. The team made history on March 28 by winning its first series in Knoxville against No. 4 Tennessee. The Rebels also received national recognition, with three players ranked in Softball America’s March Power Rankings, led by George, who was named the No. 11 utility player nationally.
