Ole Miss Men’s Golf Secures Spot at NCAA Championship with Regional Win

The University of Mississippi men’s golf team secured a spot at the 2026 NCAA Championship after finishing third at the Winston-Salem Regional in Bermuda Run, North Carolina, on Wednesday. The Rebels shot a combined score of 821, 31 under par, marking their eighth NCAA Championship appearance in school history and the fourth under head coach Chris Malloy.

Ole Miss’s performance was the seventh-best tournament in school history in relation to par. The team’s three-round total of 821 is among its top efforts, with all eight instances of shooting 30-under-par or better coming under Malloy’s leadership, including five in the past three seasons.

Cameron Tankersley led the Rebels on the final day, beginning with three birdies in the first five holes. He recorded an eagle on a 588-yard par-five at hole six, his third eagle of the season, and finished with a six-under-par round. His total of 16 under for the tournament was the second-best in Ole Miss history, behind Braden Thornberry’s 2016 -18 score.

Tom Fischer also played well, carding a three-under 68 in the final round to finish nine under for the tournament and tie for fifth individually. It was his fourth top-five finish this season. Collins Trolio started strong with birdies early and finished with a 70, ending the regional at six under and tying for 12th. Cohen Trolio added five birdies in his final round, while Finn Meister shot 74 in the closing round.

The Rebels will now prepare to compete at the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, beginning May 29. Ole Miss will look to build on their regional success as they compete for the national title.
