Mississippi State Track and Field Concludes SEC Championships with Multiple Top Finishes

Mississippi State’s track and field team finished the SEC Championships in Auburn on Saturday with several notable performances. The Bulldogs scored points in multiple events on the final day, both on the track and in the field.

The team’s jumps squad led the charge, earning points in all three events they competed in. Manie Mevo placed sixth in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 13.10 meters. Khalil Antoine achieved a personal best of 2.17 meters in the high jump, tying for fifth overall. Alla Parnov tied for seventh in the pole vault with a 4.06-meter jump, extending her No. 4 mark on the Mississippi State all-time list.

Kevin Grubbs made his SEC outdoor debut, throwing 59.79 meters in the discus for a personal best and finishing fifth. His mark ranks second on MSU’s all-time list. On the track, Nicholas Fakorede reached the final of the 100 meters for the first time, finishing fourth at 10.12 seconds. Ife Adisa set a program freshman record and Nigerian national record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.58, placing seventh and earning her third consecutive personal best.

Harry Ross-Hughes and Sam Navarro competed in the men’s 800 meters, finishing fourth in 1:45.80 and seventh in 1:46.45, respectively. The Bulldogs concluded the meet with the 4×400-meter relays. The women’s team, featuring Adisa, Adetutu Aladeloye, Camryn Merryman, and De’Kayla Simpson, competed but did not place in the top three. The men’s relay team, including Keayari Lee, Malachi Burton, Ross-Hughes, and Sherman Hawkins, ran a season-best 3:04.26 to finish seventh overall.
