Jackson State earns seventh seed in SWAC baseball tournament

The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the seedings and bracket for its baseball tournament Saturday night. Jackson State earned the seventh seed after winning a series this week, according to SWAC officials.

The Tigers (25-25, 16-14 SWAC) will open against No. 2 seed Southern on Wednesday, May 20, at 3 p.m. The game will be played at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

Joining Jackson State in the tournament are No. 3 seed Florida A&M and No. 6 seed Texas Southern, who will play the first game of the tournament at 9 a.m. at Rickwood Field. The bottom bracket features No. 1 seed Bethune-Cookman versus No. 8 seed Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and No. 4 seed Alabama State against No. 5 seed Grambling State.
