Mississippi Christian University to Host Men’s Soccer ID Day Camp on Aug. 1
Mississippi Christian University will host its annual men’s soccer ID Day Camp on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Robert P. Longabaugh Field on the MC campus in Clinton, Miss., according to the school’s athletics department.
The one-day camp is open to serious soccer players ages 15 to 21 who plan to enter grades 9 through college junior in the fall of 2026. The event provides athletes with the chance to train and compete in a collegiate environment while receiving instruction from the MC coaching staff.
Participants will engage in technical and tactical training sessions, attend a Q&A with coaches, tour the facilities and compete in full-field 11-vs.-11 matches. The camp is limited to 50 players to ensure personalized coaching and evaluation, and it will be led by MC head coach Rafael Costa and the Choctaw coaching staff.
The camp will be held at Robert P. Longabaugh Field, which features a natural grass surface, covered benches, concessions, restrooms and spectator seating. Campers will also have access to the Robert G.W. Girling III Field House, which includes locker rooms, coaches’ offices, an athletic training room and other amenities, making it one of NCAA Division II’s top soccer facilities.
The event is scheduled to run from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The registration fee is $130, which covers a camp T-shirt. The deadline to register is July 28, and spots are limited to 50 participants.
For more information, interested athletes can contact assistant coach Owen Connelly at ofconnelly@mc.edu. The camp offers prospective student-athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills and learn more about Mississippi Christian University’s men’s soccer program.
