In the first game, Jones showcased its offensive firepower, tallying 13 hits and rallying from early deficits to secure the win. Itawamba took an early lead with a leadoff homer by Victoria Fields, but Jones responded immediately. Mary Kimble Price hit a two-run shot in the first inning to put the Bobcats ahead.
The Bobcats expanded their lead in the second inning with RBI singles from Chloe Jenkins and a bases-clearing double from Price, pushing the score to 6-1. Itawamba responded with a grand slam from Emarie Boddie in the third, cutting the deficit to 6-5, and took an 8-7 lead in the fourth on a two-run homer by AB Marlar and a passed ball.
Abigail Lindsey, who came in relief with two outs in the fourth, delivered a three-run homer later that inning to put Jones back in front at 10-8. Farrah James contributed a two-run homer as part of the team’s 13-run rally.
The second game followed a similar pattern, with Itawamba scoring four runs in the first and another in the second to lead 5-2. Jones chipped away with solo homers from Price and James, then tied the game in the fourth with a single from Price and a two-run single from Annaston Tate. The Bobcats took the lead in the sixth on an error during a crucial at-bat by James. Breelyn Cain earned the win in relief, limiting Itawamba to two hits and striking out five.
