Four Mississippi State Baseball Players Selected in 2026 MLB Draft
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Four Mississippi State baseball players were selected in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft, according to school officials. The draft concluded Sunday after three days of picks.
Third baseman Ace Reese was the first Bulldog selected, going 24th overall to the Seattle Mariners on Day 1. Reliever Ben Davis was drafted in the fourth round, 104th overall, by the Colorado Rockies. On Sunday, outfielders Bryce Chance and Aidan Teel were picked in the 10th and 11th rounds, respectively. Chance was taken 312th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays, while Teel was selected five spots later by the Minnesota Twins.
Chance, a native of Ridgeland, spent five years at Mississippi State, including a redshirt season in 2022. He played 217 games, starting 201, and posted a .323 batting average with 237 hits, 48 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 136 RBIs and 36 stolen bases. The graduate made 61 starts this season, leading the team with a .349 batting average and 13 stolen bases. He was named to the SEC All-Second Team in 2026 and received honors including the Tony Gwynn Trophy Starting 9 and SEC Community Service Team.
Teel, a redshirt junior, joined Mississippi State this season after transferring from Virginia, where he played three years. He started 38 of 45 games in 2026, batting .294 with 40 hits, six doubles, five home runs, 22 RBIs and six stolen bases. This marks the 12th time a Mississippi State player has been drafted by the Twins, with Christian MacLeod the last in 2021.
Mississippi State has had 252 players drafted overall, with multiple selections in each of the past 12 drafts.
