Five Mississippi State Football Players Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

IRVING, Texas — The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame announced the 2026 class of the Hampshire Honor Society, which includes five Mississippi State football players. The honorees are Wesley Davis, Jacoby Jackson, Ethan Myers, Blake Shapen, and Brennan Smith.

The 2026 class features a record 2,596 players from 365 colleges and universities. Since its inception in 2007, the program has recognized 23,568 student-athletes from 691 schools, highlighting sustained academic success among college football players.

To qualify, nominees must be seniors graduating in spring or summer 2026 who completed their final season of eligibility in 2025, or graduate transfers who earned their bachelor’s degree and played in 2025. They must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and been a starter or significant contributor during the 2025 season.

Since 2007, the society has grown to include 2,596 honorees, with an average GPA of 3.57. About 26% of the honorees have served as team captains. The group includes offensive, defensive, and special teams players across six divisions of college football, from the NCAA’s FBS and FCS to Division II, Division III, NAIA, and Sprint.
