Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Soccer Dominates Talladega 8-0
Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s soccer team scored four goals in each half to secure an 8-0 victory over Talladega College on Saturday night at The Summit, according to school officials.
Dipanda Silva Jr. opened the scoring in the eighth minute with an assist from Sammuel Davi Cavalcante. Silva added a second goal just over three minutes later, with assists from Erick Braga and Pedro Pina. Nicholas Vieira extended the lead with goals in the 28th and 32nd minutes, the second assisted by Malachi Hodgson, giving the Toppers a 4-0 halftime advantage.
After the break, Yalin Alici scored two minutes into the second half, assisted by Pedro Suarez and Hodgson. Cory Nash made it 6-0 in the 61st minute off Pina’s second assist of the night. Alici added his second goal 70 seconds later, with Nash and Victor Silva providing the assist. Silva finished the scoring in the 71st minute, sealing the 8-0 victory.
The Toppers took 31 shots, placing 15 on target. Silva Jr., Vieira, and Alici each scored twice. Nash and Silva each contributed a goal and an assist, while Pina and Hodgson had two assists apiece. Goalkeeper Selleck Burggraf played all 90 minutes, making three saves for the clean sheet.
