Crusaders Rally Twice to Top Williams Baptist 3-2

The Crusaders improved their season record to 4-0 after a 3-2 win over Williams Baptist on Saturday afternoon at Danny Owens Field in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Williams Baptist scored first in the seventh minute due to an uncharacteristic mistake by the Crusaders’ defense. The Crusaders responded just before halftime when Souleymane Balde scored his second consecutive goal, leveling the match at 1-1.

In the second half, WBU regained the lead in the 65th minute, making it 2-1. The Crusaders once again responded, with Fernando Pirry converting a penalty in the 78th minute to tie the game. Near the end of regulation, Fabian Arroyo delivered the winning goal with a stunning free kick into the upper corner.

The Crusaders are scheduled to host LSU-Alexandria on Friday, September 4, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
