Avery Weed Named to Golfweek All-American Second Team

Avery Weed of Mississippi State has been named to Golfweek’s All-American second team, the school announced Wednesday. This marks her second All-American honor of the postseason.

During her third year with the Bulldogs, Weed posted a 70.13 scoring average, the second-best in program history. She finished par or better in 22 rounds this season, the second most ever by a Mississippi State golfer. Of those rounds, 11 were in the 60s, the third most in program history.

Weed secured her third individual title of the season at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, finishing 14-under par. She became only the second golfer in the event’s history to win without being part of the host team, Arkansas. Her performance set a new individual 54-hole record for the event.

Earlier this month, Weed was named a first-team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. She also earned first-team All-SEC honors for the third consecutive season, having been on the second team last year and the freshman team in 2023-24. Additionally, she has been selected twice for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the Arnold Palmer Cup, and the Curtis Cup, which begins June 12.
