Ole Miss Pitcher Walker Hooks Named 2026 Perfect Game All-American

Sanford, Fla. — Perfect Game announced its 2026 College Baseball All-Americans Wednesday, naming Ole Miss pitcher Walker Hooks to the Second Team. Hooks is the first Rebel to be named an All-American by Perfect Game since Parker Caracci in 2018.

Hooks, a left-hander, holds a 3-1 record with nine saves, a 2.43 ERA, and 61 strikeouts over 55.2 innings this season. His nine saves are the most by an Ole Miss pitcher since Brandon Johnson had 12 in 2022. During the regular season, Hooks led the Southeastern Conference in ERA (1.73), WHIP (0.80), and appearances (17) in conference play. He was also tied for the league lead in saves with seven.

He ranked second in fewest walks allowed (six) and tied for fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.00) during league games. Hooks has converted eight of his last nine save opportunities and has allowed just four earned runs over his last seven appearances, according to the university.

Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco praised Hooks’ performance, noting his consistency and effectiveness on the mound. Hooks’ selection continues a trend for the Rebels, who had Hunter Elliott earn All-America honors last year, marking back-to-back seasons with at least one Ole Miss pitcher receiving national recognition.
