Ole Miss Golfers Tom Fischer and Cameron Tankersley Named All-America by Golfweek

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss men’s golf players Tom Fischer and Cameron Tankersley earned All-America honors from Golfweek, the school announced Wednesday. Fischer was named to the second team, while Tankersley made the third team.

Since 1999, Golfweek has recognized the top college golfers with All-America honors. Fischer’s recognition adds to his list of accolades, which includes PING All-Region honors, a finalist spot for the Haskins Award, and All-SEC First Team honors. He finished the season with a career-best 70.06 stroke average, the fifth-lowest in school history, with 28 rounds at par or better.

This is Fischer’s second All-America honor after earning honorable mention last year. He is the sixth golfer in Ole Miss history to earn multiple All-America awards and the 14th in school history overall.

Tankersley, also a senior, added to his trophy case with All-Region and All-SEC honors. He finished second at the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional, shooting 16 under par, the second-best three-round tournament in school history. He advanced to the fourth day of stroke play at the NCAA Championship, competing for an individual national title. His final season stroke average was 70.43, ranking among the school’s best, with 15 rounds in the 60s this year, the fourth-most in school history.

Ole Miss men’s golf continues to see success this season, with the team and its players earning national recognition for their performances. Fans can follow updates on social media at @OleMissMGolf and on the school’s athletics website.
