Southern Miss Baseball Players Earn All-America Honors
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Two players from the University of Southern Mississippi baseball team earned All-America honors Wednesday afternoon. Senior right-handed pitcher Colby Allen and sophomore right-hander Camden Clark received recognition from multiple organizations.
Allen was named to the second team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the third team by Perfect Game as a relief pitcher. He finished his four-year career with 92 appearances, ranking fifth all-time at Southern Miss. Allen posted a 7-2 record with a 3.05 ERA and two saves. He was also named to the All-Sun Belt second team and earned a spot on the league’s All-Tournament team.
Clark was honored as a relief pitcher with a third-team selection from the NCBWA. The first-team All-Sun Belt pick posted an 8-0 record with five saves, a team high. Over 55 1/3 innings, he struck out 81 batters and walked 12, maintaining a 2.93 ERA in 23 appearances, including seven starts.
Southern Miss has had at least one player recognized by the NCBWA for nine straight seasons, excluding 2020. This marks the second consecutive year multiple Eagles received the honor. The selection of Allen by Perfect Game was the 11th time a Golden Eagle has been recognized by that organization since 2017.
These honors highlight the continued success of Southern Miss baseball, which has produced multiple All-America players over recent seasons.
