NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mississippi Christian University’s women’s soccer team defeated Trevecca Nazarene 3-0 Saturday. The Choctaws improved to 4-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play, while Trevecca Nazarene fell to 3-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the conference, according to school officials.
Abby Badurak scored the opening goal for the Blue and Gold in the ninth minute, assisted by Paula Catalan. Parker St. Amant added a second goal just before halftime, assisted by Keiran Goodman, giving MC a 2-0 lead at the break. The Choctaws sealed the victory in the 69th minute when Kerri O’Hara scored off an Olivia Graham assist.
Mississippi Christian dominated possession and shot attempts, finishing with a 10-7 edge in shots and putting seven on goal. Trevecca Nazarene managed just one shot on goal and four corner kicks in the match. The Choctaws maintained their advantage through a physical second half, with goalkeeper Paityn Settlemires earning her third shutout of the season after one save.
O’Hara led the team with three shot attempts, while Badurak, who scored her first goal of the season, was credited with the game-winner. St. Amant scored her first goal of the season on her only shot attempt. Settlemires played all 90 minutes in goal, helping preserve the shutout.
Mississippi Christian will return to action next week, aiming to extend their winning streak, while Trevecca Nazarene looks to rebound in upcoming matches.
