Miles Harrison Finishes Second at John Nellermoe Classic
MILLSAPS COLLEGE — Millsaps junior Miles Harrison finished tied for second at the John Nellermoe Classic, held at Starcke Park Golf Course in Seguin, Texas. Harrison shot a 2-under 214 over three rounds, including a personal-best 70 in the first round, which matched his collegiate low.
Harrison recorded 13 birdies during the tournament. His performance marked a career-best finish and a new low 54-hole score for him, according to school officials.
Senior Jason Howe led a group of Millsaps players, tying for 39th at 14-over par 230. Sophomore William Jeonsson tied for 44th at 15-over 231, while junior Charlie Berglund finished tied for 49th at 16-over 232. Freshman Matthew Yeung completed the team’s efforts in 57th place at 21-over 237.
The Millsaps men’s golf team next competes at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational on Oct. 12-13 in San Antonio, Texas. The team was tied for eighth in the team standings after the first day of the Nellermoe Classic, with a combined score of 903, 37 strokes behind team leader Southwestern University.
Other teams competing included LeTourneau University, McMurry University, and Texas Lutheran University. Millsaps was ranked eighth among the 13 teams in the tournament.
